The first cohort of the Filming and Television Production course under the MUSTโMibawa TV Digital Skills Training Program successfully completed its training on October 31, 2025.
The one month course combined theory sessions conducted at MUST with practical training at Mibawa Studios in Blantyre.
Speaking during closing session, Happy Banda, program operations officer at Mibawa, commended the participants for their dedication and passion throughout the training.
โYou have demonstrated great creativity and commitment. We believe that the skills you have gained will help you contribute positively to Malawiโs media and creative industry,โ he said.
One of the students, Lonjezo Bondo, commended both institutions for the comprehensive training offered to him and his colleagues.
He expressed gratitude for the hands-on approach of the course and pledged to utilize the skills gained to advance his career and make a meaningful contribution to the industry.
The trainees now await a graduation ceremony where they will receive certificates of completion.
The training aims to empower young people already working in the media and those aspiring to join the industry, with practical and professional skills in content creation, production, and broadcasting.
Under the partnership, MUST delivers the theoretical component while Mibawa provides hands-on experience through studio-based practical sessions.
The Filming and Television Production course follows the first training in Graphic Design and Photography, which was held in August.
A third course in Events Management will be announced soon as part of the ongoing initiative to strengthen capacity in Malawiโs creative and media sectors.
