Seven students have been awarded certificates after successfully completing an intensive one-month training in Filming and Television Production under the MUSTโ€“Mibawa Digital Media Training Program.
The graduation ceremony was held on December 19, 2025 at MUST's City campus in Blantyre.
The training combined theory and practice, with MUST providing the theoretical foundation, while Mibawa Television offered hands-on practical training.
This approach ensured that the students gained both knowledge and real-world production experience.
Speaking during the ceremony, Executive Dean for Bingu School of Culture and Heritage at MUST, Dr Atikonda Mtenje-Mkochi, congratulated the graduates and urged them to uphold MUSTโ€™s core values in their professional lives.
โ€œYou are now part of MUST, and MUST is known for innovation, integrity, umunthu, and other strong core values. I encourage you to apply these values in your everyday life and work,โ€ she said.
Mibawa General Manager, Tamma Mkhwimba, encouraged the graduates to turn the acquired skills into opportunities for self-employment and income generation, emphasizing the growing demand for creative and digital media professionals.
Representing the students, Mary Mwambongo, thanked MUST and Mibawa for the initiative, noting that the program has equipped them with practical skills and confidence in film and television production.
Through the training, the students gained competencies in concept development, TV script writing, filming, narration, and production.
The program stands as a strong example of university-industry collaboration aimed at empowering young people with relevant, market-ready digital media skills.
MUST remains committed to nurturing talent, promoting innovation, and preparing graduates who can positively contribute to the creative industry and national development.
This was the second course to be mounted under the MUST-Mibawa collaboration. The first was in Graphic Design and Photography and soon,  a third one in Events Management will be rolling out.
