Students from Nkhande Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) in Chiradzulu in March 5 held an education visit to MUST, which they described as inspiring and motivational.

The educational tour aimed at exposing the students to university life, MUST's academic programmes and their requirements, and motivating them to pursue higher education.

During the visit, the students learnt several things, including academic programmes on offer, their requirements for selection, selection process, assessments, fees structures, selection opportunities, scholarships, and general student life.

The session was conducted by a team from MUSTโ€™s marketing and corporate communications department.

They explained the universityโ€™s four schools of Bingu School of Culture and Heritage, Malawi Institute of Technology, Ndata School of Climate and Earth Sciences, and the Academy of Medical Sciences and their specific mandates.

Representing Nkhande CDSS head teacher, Mr Thom Phiri hailed MUST for the warm welcome and informative session.

"The experience will motivate the students to work harder in their studies and make it to university," he said.

โ€œThis visit is important and eye-opening for our students. What they have seen and learned here will encourage them to work hard so that one day they can also study at MUST."

Some of the students expressed excitement about the opportunity to visit the campus.

Form 4 student Moses Josamu, 19, said visiting MUST has energised to pursue higher education.

Another student, Funny Goliati, 13, and in Form 1, said the visit helped her learn more about university life and inspired her to work harder in school.

She hopes to become the first graduate in her family.

During the tour, the students also visited laboratories, lecture  rooms,  administration block, the main auditorium, and the university library.

The visit left many of the students inspired and motivated to pursue their academic dreams with excellence at MUST.
