A passion for learning and desire to tackle real-life problems are helping one MUST student turn classroom knowledge into digital innovation.

At just 23 years old, fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology student Mayamiko Mcford is showing that university education, combined with ongoing learning and determination, can lead to solutions that enhance people's lives.

While studying at MUST, Mayamiko has completed an impressive 71 professional courses on Nzeru Hub, a free digital learning platform that gives young people industry-relevant ICT skills they need.

For Mayamiko, the journey has always been about learning beyond the classroom.

"The skills I have acquired are helping me think differently about how technology can be used to address challenges in our communities," he says.

Mayamiko is the founder of G-Solutions, an innovative digital platform set to launch later this year.

He developed it together with fellow young innovators from different technical institutions.

The platform will connect customers with skilled artisans, such as plumbers, electricians, and construction professionals, through a website and mobile application.

This will help users quickly find nearby service providers for home maintenance and renovation needs.

His passion for innovation does not stop there as Mayamiko is also working on other digital solutions, including FORDORA Payroll and Employee Management System, a Debtors Management System and a Home Inventory Management System.

As technology continues to shape the future, stories like Mayamiko's inspire fellow students to realize that learning does not end in the classroom.
