Balancing academic studies with student leadership is no easy task, but for Charity Khoviwa, it is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of fellow students.

Khoviwa is a third-year Bachelor of Arts in Language, Communication and Culture at MUST and serves as Vice President for the Open and Distance e-Learning (ODeL) students.

In her leadership position, she is committed to ensuring that students receive the support they need to succeed in their studies.

One of her key responsibilities is assisting students who are sponsored through the MUST Endowment Fund and Higher Education Students' Loans and Grants Board.

"I primarily support students sponsored under the Endowment Fund and the Loans Board by liaising with relevant university offices to help resolve challenges related to upkeep allowances and tuition fees," she says.

Through this role, Khoviwa has become a trusted link between students and the university, helping to ensure that concerns affecting students' academic progress are addressed promptly.

Despite the demands of leadership, she remains committed to her studies. She attributes her ability to balance both responsibilities to effective planning and discipline.

"I balance my responsibilities as Vice President and a full-time student through strong time management," she explains.

Khoviwa's story reflects the leadership, commitment and resilience that define many MUST students. Her dedication to serving others while pursuing her academic goals demonstrates that leadership is about creating positive change and
supporting those around you.

As MUST continues to strengthen its ODeL programme, students like Khoviwa are helping build a supportive learning community where academic success and student leadership go hand in hand.
