MUST on September 3, 2026, held its first public auction since the University was established, offering a range of boarded-off items to members of the public.
The auction, which was spearheaded by the MUST Procurement and Disposal of Assets  Department, was aimed at disposing of outdated and unused items while recovering value that can contribute towards acquiring new resources for the university.
Speaking during the auction, MUST Procurement Manager Joan Khofi said the response from buyers was encouraging, describing the feedback as great.
Khofi said the auction marks an important step in the university's efforts to manage its resources effectively and ensure that items that are no longer useful to the institution are put to better use.
โ€œThe auction is not only about disposing of old items, but also about creating space and recovering value from resources that are no longer needed by the University," she said.
The auction provided an opportunity for members of the public to acquire a variety of items that have been declared surplus or are no longer required by the university.
The initiative reflects MUST's commitment to responsible resource management, accountability and efficient use of institutional assets as the university continues to grow.
