MUST, in partnership with Medical Aid Society of Malawi (MASM), on June 22, 2026, launched a three-day First Aid training program.

The initiative will equip MUST staff with life-saving skills to effectively handle workplace and community emergencies.

Among others, the training which is taking place at MUST City campus in Blantyre, will empower staff to respond rapidly to medical emergencies, provide initial management of injuries to stabilize patients and minimize severity hence building community resilience.

Speaking during opening of the training, Head of Clinical Services Department at MUST, Dr Linda Chokotho, hailed management for prioritizing safety and urged participants to stay attentive.

โ€œEmergencies do not wait for experts, they happen anytime and we must be ready. First aid is not just a skill but a competence that we all need to have," she said.

On her part, Lusungu Chirambo, a MASM facilitator, said the hands-on sessions will focus on critical conditions like Asphyxia and Anaphylaxis, alongside essential emergency communication and documentation.

Participants will undergo both practical and theoretical sessions, concluding with official presentations of certificates as first aid providers.
