Clinical Research Coordinator: Mtambo Study
The Malawi University of Science and Technology’s (MUST) Academy of Medical Sciences in collaboration with the University of California San Francisco’s (UCSF) Benioff Children’s Hospital will be conducting a clinical research study over the coming months. The study, known as the Mtambo Study, is funded by the UCSF Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS) and the UCSF Resource Allocation Program (RAP). It will be conducted in Thyolo District and will focus on pediatric febrile illness. The study is aimed at getting a better understanding of how such illnesses present, are treated and managed as well as understanding the microbiological causes with the aim of developing better predictive markers which will lead to improved clinical outcomes for Malawian children. The Mtambo Study is managed by a study team headed by a Project Principal Investigator (Project PI). To effectively meet the study objectives, MUST now invites applications from suitably qualified and interested candidates to fill the position of Clinical Research Coordinator, to be recruited as an individual consultant.
