MUST on August 29, 2026, organized a management team building exercise aimed at strengthening teamwork, leadership and collaboration among members.
The exercise provided an opportunity for staff to interact, reflect and strengthen their working relationships as they work towards achieving the Universityโ€™s strategic goals.
Speaking during the exercise, MUST Vice Chancellor, Associate Professor Mwapatsa Mipando, said the initiative was important for the Universityโ€™s leadership.
"It helps in building a strong and united leadership team that can work together to take MUST to greater heights," he said.
โ€œOur aim is to lift MUST high and make it a locally relevant and globally competitive university.โ€
He emphasized the need for excellence to guide the Universityโ€™s work, saying every staff member has a role to play in maintaining high standards.
Associate Professor Mipando also stressed the importance of putting students at the centre of the Universityโ€™s work, noting that their welfare should remain a priority.
The exercise also received positive feedback from the participants, with Associate Professor Chikondi Chisenga describing it as a game changer.
"It provided an important platform for the leadership team to strengthen its bond and improve collaboration,' said Dr Chisenga.
The team building exercise comes as MUST continues to strengthen its leadership and institutional direction, with a renewed focus on excellence, student welfare, teamwork and positioning the University as a locally relevant and globally competitive institution.
