On Friday, October 24, 2025, 158 Form 4 students from Bakhita Girls Private Secondary School in Balaka, had an exciting opportunity of visiting MUST in Thyolo.
According to school authorities, the visit was organized to allow the students appreciate and understand university life, explore facilities and connect with current students and staff.
"We also wanted our girls to know the various programmes on offer and their requirements so that they know which areas to focus on," said headmistress, Sister Chifundo Ngondya.
She also thanked MUST for the warm reception, saying the experience will help the students to have a greater sense personal responsibility and prepare them emotionally and mentally in their transition to higher education.
MUST Communications Manager, James Mphande, who made a presentation to the students, said the university is always excited to have such students coming for education visits.
"The presentation was essentially about our history, academic programmes on offer, their requirements for selection, life on campus including issues of assessments and their implications. It also explained the selection application process," he said.
After the presentation that also included a question and answer session, the students toured the university's facilities.
