New students drilled on library services

First-year students at MUST were on August 28, 2026 briefed on various library services.
This was part of the orientation program for the new students, which started on August 24.
Library officials, Mlonyeni Chisi, Temwani Kamanga, and Stuwart Chikusilo, took turns to introduce essential research tools, digital collaboration spaces, and academic resources.
The program concluded with a facility tour where students learnt about academic services like writing assistance, peer tutoring, and quiet study areas.
The students also had digital sessions with librarians to set up remote database access, wireless printing, and university e-book applications.
"The library is not just a physical repository for books, but a dynamic partner in student learning and academic development," Chisi said.
The orientation has since closed and students are expected to start their classes next week Monday with continuing students expected to report on campus on August 30.
Meanwhile, newly selected postgraduate students will have their orientation between August 31 and September 4 at MUST's City campus in Blantyre.
