For many students from St Owen and Chigawe secondary schools, MUSTβs Thyolo campus, was more than just a school trip, it was a moment that brought their dreams closer to reality.
Walking through the university campus on March 13, the students had the opportunity to experience what life at MUST looks like.
For some, it was their first time setting foot at a university, and the visit sparked excitement and hope about what their future could hold.
During the visit, the university team engaged the students in an interactive session, sharing academic life by highlighting social life, assessments, selection process, and fee structure.
Most importantly, MUST reminded the students that their dreams are achievable through hard work and determination.
Representing the headteachers from both schools, Gracian Kamoto and Adread Mpombera expressed appreciation to the university for warmly welcoming the students and taking time to inspire them.
They said such visits are important because they help students see possibilities beyond the classroom and motivate them to work harder towards their goals.
For Tonny Petro from Chigawe Secondary School, who represented the visiting students, the experience was unforgettable.
He thanked the school management teams for organizing the trip and choosing MUST as the destination.
βThis visit has really motivated us. Seeing the campus and learning about the programmes here has made us realize that our dreams are possible if we work hard,β he said.
During a campus tour, the students explored several facilities, including the administration block, laboratories, library, cafeteria, lecture rooms, and the main auditorium.
By the end of the visit, mist of them left the campus with a renewed sense of purpose, determined to study hard and one day return to MUST, not as visitors, but as students ready to shape their future.
